About Skinvesting
Skinvesting is a price-comparison and market-data platform for Counter-Strike 2 skins, built and operated by 49Skins GmbH in Isernhagen, Germany. We compare live prices across the major CS2 marketplaces, keep real price history, and benchmark the whole market with the SKINX index — so that anyone buying, selling or holding skins can see what things actually cost right now, where they are cheapest, and how they have moved.
What Skinvesting does
Every few minutes we collect the live asking prices for tens of thousands of CS2 items from the marketplaces we track, normalise them to euros, and store every observation. From that data we build the comparison tables on each item page, the daily price history, the market statistics, the automated weekly and monthly market reports, and the SKINX index of the most liquid weapon skins. How each of those numbers is computed is documented in plain language on the methodology page.
Who builds it
Skinvesting is a product of 49Skins GmbH, a German company registered in Hannover (HRB 225660). Its managing directors are Henrik Schrader and Ben Kretschmann. The data pipeline, the index and the 3D skin viewer are developed in-house.
How we make money
Skinvesting is free to use. Some of the marketplace links on our pages are affiliate links: if you buy after following one, the marketplace may pay us a commission at no cost to you. Marketplaces can also pay for a featured placement, which is always labelled as sponsored. Neither changes the prices we show or their order — the cheapest offer is always the cheapest offer. Principles
EU-based and GDPR-compliant: the service runs on servers in Germany and collects no personal data beyond what running a website requires. No gambling: we do not operate, promote or link to case-opening, betting or gambling sites. Honest data: every figure on the site is computed from observed marketplace listings. When the data cannot support a number, we show nothing rather than an estimate — no invented sales volumes, ratings or reviews.
